A reflection of observations and beliefs on the past and present, and hopes for the future. Part I

It has been a while since I have posted on Reddit. But it feels great so here I go. This will be the first in a series of posts that I will submit in the upcoming days, so hopefully good discourse can be brought about. The subject is Gran Turismo. Since 1996, I have been a PS Loyalist, enjoying titles such as Crash Bandi, Spyro, Syphon Filter, Paparappa the Rapper, Tekken, Need for Speed, MGS and the likes. Betwixt these amazing titles, the one that stood out the most to me was the Gran Turismo series. Not only did this game harbor a love for cars and speed, it also harbored a love for Jazz Music. Truly, when Kazunori was working hard to establish a name for himself in the gaming industry, he gave us true gems. Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2 pushed the PSX to its limits with finesse. When the PS2 came out, Kazunori released his magnus opus, Gran Turismo 3. TILL THIS DAY!, I firmly believe that he hasn't truly gave his fans a successor to GT3. That installment was amazing. While it had fewer cars than GT2, GT3 made up for it with great attention to detail, soundtrack, breathtaking visuals (in its time), and great audio. Despite it being a PS2 title, it did great in giving its players a sense of speed and thrill. Menu navigation was simple and quick, and with a Jazz element mixed with it, what could a Jazz head ask for? (Even when unlocking a bonus car or winning a trophy, the Jazz music that played was all original). The physics engine that GT3 incorporated was the best I have ever experienced. There is nothing like GT3. So it's disheartening to see Kazunori, a man with great talent and financial support, not bring out his best. GT4 was okay but it didn't live up to GT3 standards.GT HD Concept was actually pretty good, My only complaint was that it was too short and it was discontinued. I had a sense of hope with GT5 Prologue but it was killed when GT5 came out. GT6 was the worst installment ever created. Horrible gameplay, Too "Beautiful", Horrible soundtrack and overall unthrilling. It was such a waste of time playing it, I returned it the same day (Not kidding). When I heard rumors of GT Sport, it sparked a thing in me, in which, I kept up with any upcoming rumors, info, leaks, etc. For the first time in YEARS, I was hyped. Even the trailer for GT Sport was put on replay. I said my heart, may this be the day GT3 is Succeeded? The answer is... NO.
I will not lie, the game is beautiful but the constant problem is still visible... Its TOO beautiful. I don't get a good sense of speed, and the thrill of the race is not there. The soundtrack was boring... better yet garbage. The frame rate is not consistent and even the menu is laggy. The Online aspect has improved but it's still not up to par with it's competitor Forza. And see? Why is Forza constantly improving but our cherished GT isnt? Why can't Kazunori (again, a man of talent with a huge financial support) give us a TRUE successor to Gran Turismo 3? People, Just look at this video and you will understand how I feel: https://youtu.be/elVzEYWNOyY This game has that Gran Turismo 3 feel to it but with high visuals. Both the gameplay and Engine Sounds are immaculate. There is no excuse for Kazunori. My opinion is, Kazunori either should make a GT3 remake for the PS5 or he should retire. I am tired of the fact that he focuses too much on the beauty of a machine rather than on the raw power and potential a machine can give. He created a solid fanbase over the years and for what? to constantly turn his back on us? Has he forgotten that we, the fanbase, are the one's that enabled him to acquire a net worth valued in the multi-millions? I understand that he is a man of business, and when he truly dedicates his heart into something, it comes out perfect. My only fear is that maybe he has lost something in him. I can only wish that he could sit down and replay GT3 so that he can regain that hunger that he once had when he was just some game developer looking to get a name for himself. Kazunori, Find your mojo and give us what we truly want. Stop trying to make your games too beautiful and instead give us RAW POWER. Push the PS5 to it's limits like how when you pushed the PS2 to the max with GT3. Kazunori, Quit playing.
Thank you for your time
